Fred Fawzi Shaker, age 79, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died Tuesday night August 15th, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones. Fawzi was born October 8th, 1937 in Cairo, Egypt. He was the son of the late Shaker Gawargeyous and Farowza Bishay.
Fawzi graduated from the University of Cairo with an accounting degree in 1958. He served in the Egyptian military for several years and worked as an accountant in Egypt for over 20 years. In 1983, he moved to the United States where he owned and operated several retail businesses.
Fawzi is survived by his wife of 49 years Samia Shaker, along with three children and six grandchildren: Daughter, Amal (Molly) Cooper and her husband, Rance, of Yorba Linda and their children Kelsey, Brady, and Hannah; Daughter, Enas Croft and her husband William, of Henderson, Nevada and their son, Jacoby; and Son, George Shaker and his wife, Elizabeth, of Las Vegas and their sons, Giovanni and Nile. Fawzi is also survived by other loving brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and relatives, including Tharwat Shaker and his wife Nabila and their children Mark, Michael and Mathew.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am at St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church, 6170 W. Cartier Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89108 followed by committal at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A Reception will follow at Shish Kabob House Restaurant, 6620 W. Flamingo RD#8, Las Vegas, NV 89103.
