The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be
thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day
our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses, as
we forgive those who trespass against us. And
lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from
evil. For thine is the Kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
Eulogy
Hello, as I stand here, I see relatives and friends that have come great distances to be here with my mother. I am humbled and impressed at how she must have touched your lives. I can only speak for my family, but when we think of how she touched our lives, the first word that comes to our mind is “admiration”.
I could stand here and list all the ways we admire her. But we would like to share a few reasons why we admire our mom. First and foremost was her love and commitment to my father. They were happily married for 45 years. We also admire her because of the kind of mother she was to us. Yes, she loved us very much. She instilled in us a core value system that defined who she was. A woman that made sure that her family was well taken care of, even if it meant she had to sacrifice. She always put her family first.
We learned that the most important thing that she had was us, her family. Our mother’s pride and joy was always her family, she always verbalized how proud she was of what we have become and we have her to thank for that. She always told us how much she loves us. We are who we are today because we had a mother like her. Mom raised us to be good Catholics, and set a good example for us.
Her grandchildren will miss their mama. My sisters and I will miss our mother, the source of our convictions. We love her very much. We will miss our inspiration, her many stories and laughter.
Let’s remember everything that our mother shared with us. She is now reunited with our dad, and we are at peace knowing that they are home with our Creator.
