Emmanuel Lumapas Cortes

Emmanuel Lumapas Cortes, 82, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. He was born in Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines on December 24, 1940. Emmanuel Lumapas Cortes graduated from Abellana National High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Commerce from University of Southern Philippines.

Emmanuel was married to Carolina Ceniza Cortes on October 7. 1967.

Emmanuel Lumapas Cortes worked as a Medical Representative for Winthrop Stearns Pharmaceutical. He was a member of BEC Communities and had a passion for reading, writing, singing and playing tennis.

Emmanuel is preceded in death by his children Emmalina and Joel (Suzette) Cortes and siblings, Wilfredo and Ruben. He is survived by his wife, Carolina; children, Lyle (Cristy) Cortes, Emmaline (Dan) Morales, Lee (Gena) Cortes, Dyna (Lyndon) Faelnar, Leo Cortes, Van (Chore) Mainit, Caremma Cortes and Maynard Cortes. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Carmel, Jozette, Lemuel, Lance, Llyz Noelle, Lorie Kate, Dylan Franco and Lyt; and siblings Rodulfo, Adoracion, Marlyn, Nenita, Virgincita, Simplicio II, Mario, Celeste, Amor and Reynaldo.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 5-9 pm at Palm Eastern Mortuary (7600 S. Eastern Avenue Las Vegas, NV 89123). Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (130 N Pecos Rd, Henderson, NV 89074). Committal (burial) service will follow at Palm Eastern Cemetery at 11:00 am.
