This has taken me a few months to finally write. I have been extremely sad and grieving and heartbroken over the loss of my dear best friend Elizabeth. And I mean that! I met her on my first day working at UNLV and turns out it was her first day too! Upon talking with one another, we discovered we were both from New Mexico! We became great friends from that first meeting and throughout the years shared many fun times together and even a few adventures! I could always talk to Elizabeth about anything ,likewise for her! We shared so so many stories and laughs together! I learned about cowboys, rodeos and PBR from her and we even went to some of those events together and had a fabulous time ! I will forever cherish our friendship and carry Elizabeth in my heart forever. She was one of a kind! I will always miss her and I think of her everyday. 
To quote Garth Brooks, one of her favorite singers, “ I’m glad I didn’t know the way it all would end, the way it all would go. Our lives are better left to chance , I could have missed the pain, But I’d have had to miss the dance” ❤️

Ms. Elizabeth was head staff when I was a Teacher Assistant at UNLV. We were in charge of closing the classrooms during the summer, and I had the privilege of closing with her during Summer 2022 and Summer 2023. Elizabeth taught me so many life lessons while we worked together. She taught me how to be compassionate, patient, and loving to the kids, while also teaching me how to be resilient, optimistic, and driven in life. There were many days she would share to me her love for rodeo and of course, the kids, and I would share to her my life dilemmas. She was truly inspiring and a positive light to all of us. We love you and miss you every day Ms. Elizabeth <3.

Elizabeth will be missed by her co-workers and the multitude of families whose children were in her care for decades. She was a wonderful early childhood teacher and friend. She was very dedicated to her job. Elizabeth was a huge fan of Professional Bullriders and Rodeo and country music! She never forgot her cowboy hat and boots! 
She touched so many lives with her happy positive personality!

My son Jackson, who is 15 now, absolutely loved Elizabeth. So much so, that after he started elementary school, Elizabeth watched him a couple nights for us and he had an absolute blast with her, Bruce and their dogs. She even took him to a rodeo event at the Southpoint. Jackson always learned so much from her about life, love, responsibility, how to have fun, etc. In 2015, while Jackson was at her house, we got a text saying that there were some abandoned dogs in her neighborhood and that Jackson fell in love with one and asked if we would adopt it. We did and Ginger (Gingie) is still alive and living with Jackson at his dad's house. While Jackson was at the UUMCDC, I went on a few field trips with Elizabeth, as a chaperone and the kids had an absolute blast. She always mixed education (like a museum visit )with fun (rolling down the grassy hills). Elizabeth was truly one in a billion and her light shined bright. She will truly be missed.  We shared a birthday and wish we spent a birthday or two together. The love and respect that she and Bruce shared, was truly beautiful. Sending my love and sympathy to him and the rest of her family.

Our deepest condolences to you all from Elizabeth's  colleagues and friends at the UNLV/CSUN Preschool. Her 10 years of dedication  to the children and families here are recognized as a part of her many years in the Early Childhood field.  We will deeply miss her fun activities, playful spirit, compassion, and  true commitment to children.  Her spirit will carry on and our thoughts and prayers are with you from the bottom of our hearts.

Ms. Elizabeth Walker was the most wonderful, caring, and loving preschool teacher to my son Vishnu.   Vishnu's favorite things about her were her humor, her multitude of colorful phrases and sayings, and her penchant for dance parties and cowboy hats! Her life has touched and changed so many lives for the better.  She shined her light brighly on every person and  child she came in contact with, and just the mention of her name brings smiles to so many faces. We are truly heartbroken and devastated over her passing. We love you Ms. Elizabeth ❤️.
