Dorothy D. Hill, 68, of Las Vegas, Nevada went to be with Our Lord Saturday, January 29, 2011. Dorothy was born to Kenneth M. Dunn Sr. and Ruby G. (Moody) Dunn in Marie, Arkansas July 8, 1942. Dorothy was raised in Philadelphia, Mississippi until she met and married the love of her life, George C. Hill on April 5, 1956. George was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was a S/SGT Fire Control Systems Tech. In 1958, shortly after marrying, George and Dorothy transferred to Nellis Air Force Base. The couple have called Las Vegas, Nevada home since. Dorothy retired from JCPenny's after 36 years of service, from window model to Human Resources. The couple had one daughter, Robbi M. Hill-Corley (Guy Scott Corley) and incredible twin grandsons, Andrew and Matthew Corley. Dorothy was an amazing woman, wife, mommy, nana and friend. She touched many people and did it without needing recognition or award, but because of who she was. Dorothy loved her family more than anything else and did everything to take care of them. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth M. Dunn Sr. and Ruby G. Dunn and brother Kenneth M. Dunn Jr. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, George C. Hill, daughter Robbi M. and son-in-law Guy Scott, twin grandsons, Andrew and Matthew, sisters, Shirley (Dunn) Sanford Tolbert, Romey-Fay (Dunn) Harry Hatcher, Judy (Dunn) Brown, Carol-Jane (Dunn) Jack Van Landingham, as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Memorial Services will be held at Palm Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, February 9, 2011, from 5 to 7 pm. The family wishes to thank Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada and Mountain View Hospital for thoughtful care, and Nathan Adelson Hospice for an extraordinary example of human kindness.
