Dora Jean Dugan

21st, 1930, in Steubenville, OH to John J Dugan and Maggie Dugan (Mulrooney).

She is survived by her son Jimmy Moloney (and his wife Shelly) and by her daughter Patricia

Schliedt. Dora is also survived by many nieces and nephews. They will all remember her with

deep affection – Dora ALWAYS sent everyone greeting cards for every occasion. She kept in

touch with everyone until her health prevented her from doing so. She loved when family

visited.

Dora was number 12 of 13 siblings, all of whom preceded her in death. Dora’s daughter Kathy

preceded her in death by only 5 days on September 10th, 2022. Dora’s son Kevin passed

October 23rd, 2016.

Dora loved Catholic Central High School where her brothers all excelled in all sports, and she

was the Lead Cheerleader! She enjoyed sharing memories from going to 8 proms! Dora was

always so grateful to be born in the 30s and a teenager in the 40s with the big band era. She

always said, “We’d rather dance than eat!” She also loved the San Francisco 49ers because she

graduated high school in 1949.

Music had a HUGE impact on Dora her entire life. She requested songs that were played from

YouTube that gave us all an enormous musical education in a wide range of styles dating all

the way back to the 1920s. She spent many years as The World Famous Ink Spots’ biggest fan!

She helped Lou Ragland’s wife, Stella, sell CDs at their performances in Las Vegas, and the Ink

Spots graciously played for Dora at her assisted living for her 86th birthday. It was the greatest

surprise EVER!

Dora’s requests always ended with Sweet Georgia Brown by Brother Bones because the song

reminded her of her mother Maggie, hiking her skirt to her knees, and dancing in the kitchen

back in Steubenville, OH.

So many wonderful things could be said about Dora Jean Dugan, it would take an entire book.

She was the smartest, most beautiful little Irish woman anyone ever had the pleasure to know

and love. So let this end with one of her sayings. She never said “goodbye”. Dora Jean Dugan

told everyone in parting, “I love you forever!”

She believed in angels, and now our beautiful Jeanie flies with them with her own set of wings.

Dora’s outdoor service will be held in the spring of 2023 at Palm Eastern Mortuary & Cemetery

near Sunset Park in Las Vegas, NV.
