Don Allen Hamby

Don was born December 1, 1944 in Rocky Ford, CO to Walter and Emma (Eichelberger) Hamby. He married Janice (Russell) Hamby on September 25, 1965 and together they welcomed a daughter. He served in the United States Army from 1966-1968.

Don attended the University of Missouri and was employed by Caterpillar, AT&T and retired from Citibank in 2006. Following his retirement, he enjoyed spending time outdoors and participated in activities such as hiking, biking, kayaking and playing pickleball.

He is survived by his wife Janice (Russell) Hamby, daughter Jennifer Hamby, brother Homer Hamby (Ruth) and many loving nieces and nephews.

God, grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change,

courage to change the things I can

and the wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time,

accepting hardship as the path to peace,

taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is,

not as I would have it,

trusting that He will make all things right

if I surrender to His will,

that I may be reasonably happy in this life

and supremely happy

with Him

forever in the next.

A celebration of life for Don will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129, followed by a reception from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
