Dennis Paul Jones

On May 26, 1979, he married Rita Stagen in Forest Park, Illinois. Over the 45 years of their marriage, they lived in Mount Prospect, IL, Apex, NC, and retired in Henderson, Nevada in 2009.

Dennis earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He later earned his master's degree in Vocational Guidance in Counseling from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL.

He worked for the State of Illinois for over 30 years as an employment counselor, as well as working as a test research analyst for the federal government.

He retired from the State of Illinois in 1997. He volunteered at the food bank in Apex, NC. He was a eucharistic minister at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church and to the homebound Catholics of Henderson, Nevada. He enjoyed listening to classical music, nature walks and spending time with his family.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Rita Stagen Jones, and four children, Mike Jones and wife Susan of Orland Park, IL, Bruce Jones of Chicago, IL, Cathy Jones and husband Adam Brewer of Asheville, NC, and Phil Jones, of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Emma and Camille Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents J. Paul Jones and Gertrude Michalski.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests the consideration of a donation in Dennis's name to the Alzheimer's Association.

A reception for Dennis will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Eastern, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A visitation will occur from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
