She was educated in the Detroit Public School system and later graduated from Cooley High School.
After high school she decided to attend Wayne State College majoring in Psychology, during this time she worked many jobs.
Throughout the years she had many talents. She wrote poetry & songs, played the keyboard & guitar. She also, loved to draw.
Cartoon art was her specialty. She was so excited when she decided to join the Army. She served from 09/29/1987 to 03/24/1989 as a Helicopter Mechanic.
Her time served ended abruptly when she was in an automobile accident at the age of 23, which caused her to be wheelchair bound for a great portion of her life. She made her transition on 06/03/2024. She was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Ward, her step father Roosevelt Kirk Sr., her two siblings Roosevelt Kirk Jr. and Andrew Kirk. She leaves to cherish her memories: her father Frank Ward, her brothers Eric (De’Borah), Andre, Melvin: her sisters Kayvonne, Sophelia (Nygel), Dionne, Cameron, Latonja, Yvonne, Lisa; her nephews Ishmael, Meshach, Isaiah, Joshua, Malachi, Jeremiah, Eric II (Ciara), niece De’Erica (Terry) and a host of other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A visitation for Deborah will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131. A funeral service will occur Friday, June 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131. A committal service will occur Friday, June 28, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr, Boulder City, NV 89005.
