Daniel Lee Knapp, 43, passed away saving the life of a stranger in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, December 29, 2011. Daniel was born November 26, 1968 in Loma Linda, California. Danny served in the FBI for six years and was based in Puerto Rico. He received both the 2011 FBI Director's Award for outstanding Criminal Investigation and the 2011 Attorney General's Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement. "Special Agent Knapp exemplified each of the ideals of the FBI, as well as possessing those traits which define a genuine wonderful person," said Joseph Campbell, the head of the FBI's Puerto Rico Field Office. Daniel is survived by his parents Clive Jay and Renae Richie Knapp. He also has four brothers that will forever love and cherish him, Barry Knapp, Michael (Deborah) Knapp, David (Aloyna) Knapp, Rich (Kellie) Knapp. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 9:00 am with funeral services following at 10:00 am at Lone Mountain Stake Center 10070 Azure Drive.
