Cole James Powell is the first son born in Lake Havasu City, Arizona July 5, 2005 to parents Nicole and Eric Powell. His name was derived from a blend of family, Ni-Cole being his mom’s name and James was Cole’s late grandfather.
Family grew over the years to include a brother-Drake in 2009; Step-father Adrian and step brothers Aidan and Kaleb in 2013; Brother- Ace in 2017.
He was raised in Bullhead City, Arizona throughout his elementary and middle school years. Cole went to preschool at Little Lambs. Followed by attendance at Mohave Accelerated Learning Academy-MALC until his transfer to American Heritage Academy in Henderson, Nevada in the 10th grade. Cole was currently a senior slated to graduate in May of 2023.
Cole got his first job over the summer of 2022, working part time at a local McDonalds. Cole spoke of aspiring to one day follow his parents into the medical field and possibly becoming a physical therapist as his Dad is. In addition, he had a great interest in learning history and envisioned himself becoming a teacher in combination with carrying out his love for basketball and doing some coaching.
Cole had a very competitive spirit and would work hard for things he enjoyed and for those that could capture his respect and/or admiration. He has been actively involved in playing sports since the age of 4. He has played soccer, football and basketball throughout his youth. Cole had an undeniable love for the game of basketball which his 6’4” frame yielded to be beneficial to. He would spend hours watching old highlights of games. He couldn’t get enough court time and would play before and after school regularly. He dreamed of the opportunity to continue to play one day after high school.
Our beloved Cole was learning and had faith in Our Heavenly Father. He would love to be remembered for all that was good and the blessings in his life.
A memorial service for Cole will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
