Letter to Chrys;
Born April 22, 1977, the year our lives changed. We remember you as kids being this annoying little guy running up and down the store aisle screaming, BLING, BLING, BLING….!!! Not sure why you would yell that out, but we could hear your laughter and screams throughout the stores. I remember mom always chasing and yelling “ te calmas o te calmo!” You were a travieso as kid, which came with injuries. Like the time you were jumping on the bed fell cut your eyebrow and needed a couple of stitches. The time you got run over for running in the middle of street, or when you fell off your skateboard and injured your knee. Always running.
However, as you got older you became more of a protector. Always looking out for those you cared and loved. Anytime anyone got into trouble or needed a hand, you were there to help. You were always hustling to provide for your family, making sure you children had the best outta life. Sundays was family day, spent the day with your kids. You were a friend to many, helping them in their time of need and at their worst hours. Grabbing a beer hearing them out, listening to their problems/issues and trying to provide some kind of comfort. At times making them laugh, to ease there pain and ensure everything will be ok. You were always that cheerleader to cheer us on to lift our spirit at our darkest of hour. Always dressed to impress, wearing the finest clothes, shoes, fancy watches, best colognes and driving the nicest cars. You worked hard to enjoy life’s luxuries.
At such an early age, the time has come to lay you to rest. Words we never thought we would say or read. Its hard to understand the why, the how and what might have happened. I’m sorry things might not have turned out as you wished. Forever thankful, for the times we spent, good or bad. Thank you for making us laugh when we needed it. Thank you for the joy you brought at the family gatherings, at all the carne azadas. Thank you for caring and loving us through the good and bad times. It hurts right now because of your departure. It will take some time to heal, and I don’t think we’ll ever get use to you not being here. Wherever you are at now or go, we wish you peace for your spirit. Please know this, there are no words to express what we feel about you and we hope you know now and forever. We will never forget you, miss you always and love you very much. We know its time go, and it’s too painful to utter the words “good bye”. So we’ll just say, we’ll see you later.
Love, Your family….
“ So take these broken wings
I need your hands to come and heal me once again
So I can fly,
I can fly Til the end of time”
