Charles Miksch Phillips 83, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2012 in Las Vegas, NV. Chuck was born in Milwaukee, WI. on April 7, 1928. He built a successful career in Radio and television broadcasting in Milwaukee, WI. In 1969, Chuck embraced the challenge of leading the Wisconsin Catholic Conference as its first Executive Director, representing the five Wisconsin Dioceses in state and federal public policy matters. Chuck retired and moved to Las Vegas with his wife Carol. There he continued to be active in volunteer services and enjoyed a retirement filled with travel and visits with family and friends.He is survived by his loving wife Carol of 62 years and their seven children: Nancy Phillips, Mike (Diane) Phillips, Jeanne (Michael Powers) Phillips, Barb Wilkins, Tom (Jacquie) Phillips, Chris (Denise) Phillips and Peg (Craig) Guse; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his parents Harlindis and Martin Miksch and his brother Gerald. Memorial Services will be held at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Madison, Wisconsin on February 11, 2012 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the charity of your choice.
