Las Vegas, Nv - Charles Stanley Macey Jr., "Stan" to his friends, age 82, died Tuesday January 3, 2017 at Sunrise Hospital in Winchester township following a brief illness. Born and raised in Concord, New Hampshire, the son of Charles and Mary Louise (Stoddard) Macey Weber, he was a long time resident of Las Vegas, Nv. He is preceded by his father, brother Douglas, mother, and daughter Deborah Louise Fogal McBride. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Lila Gaye (Vaughan) Macey; his son, Kevin Charles Macey; his daughter, Deanna Lynn DeLange; sister Joan Stepp; six grandchildren, as well as at least 2 great-grandchildren. In his early years, Stan enjoyed football and hockey. He became the man of the house with his father's passing when he was 13 yrs. old, and would help sell doughnuts for the local store, and occasionally put snow chains on his bike to deliver papers. After graduating from Concord High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force, where he was a Tech Sergeant. He met his wife, Lila Gaye Vaughan, through friends and they were married in 1959 at Grace Community Church in Boulder City, NV. An avid bowler, he could have been a pro having scored several 300 games, but that would have made it too much like work. After several deployments to Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea, he retired from the service, and attended Clark County Community College, graduating in 1985 with an associate's degree in Printing and getting a job at the Las Vegas Review Journal. He not only took pride in his work, but truly relished the friends he made during his time at the R.J. Stan loved the outdoors; he was a longtime Scoutmaster of Troop 266, and proud of his infamous wood-badge knees. Another love of his was Western movies spending countless hours watching his old shows. A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM January 17 Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr., Boulder City, NV 89005.
