Born with a ‘heart of gold’ on Wednesday May 19, 1943 to Joy Lee Porter and Lonnie Hall in Wills Point, TX. Her smile alone won the hearts of her parents. Her beauty was inside and out. We are saddened to announce beloved Cecile passed away on Wednesday October 25, 2023.
She leaves an impression of ‘light and love.’ Her legacy of devotion has made an everlasting impression on her family, friends and all those she took interest in. She was empathetic and patient. She was the ‘best friend’ you could ever have.
Her family always came first. Family was her ‘prize possession’. A devoted and loyal wife to L.J. Gibson of 61 years. A loving mother to Laurence Javier Gibson. She always spent quality time with her husband and son.
A reliable, faithful servant. A praying woman. She trusted God’s divine guidance. Expressive, fun-loving and she lived life to the fullest. She loved her husband’s cooking, traveling with him, dancing and enjoyed gatherings with their friends.
A scholar who spoke the truth on behalf of the less fortunate. In her professional years, she made her mark, as a Social Worker for Los Angeles County Department of Social Services. She set out to help and indeed changed the lives around her, for the better. She was compassionate as well as a humanitarian.
She leaves to cherish her memory husband L.J. Gibson, Son Laurence Javier Gibson, Sister Joyce Denman [Ernest Denman Jr], (3) Granddaughters Chantell Smith Gibson, Tanisha Gibson, and Jasmine Gibson, Grandson Laurence De Sean Gibson, Great Granddaughter Cori Leighton Gibson, Niece Paula Denman, Nephew Keith Denman, Niece Deidra Denman and their children, Niece Ursula & Victor Stewart and their children, Sister-in-Law Thelma & Lenard Mobley, numerous relatives and endearing friends.
Through the mercy of God may Cecile rest in everlasting paradise.
80 years wasn’t long enough for the blessing of her life! We love Cecile deeply and will miss her forever!
