Catherine Liberato of Henderson, Nevada passed away March 6, 2023 at the age of 94. She was born in 1928 in Passaic, New Jersey to the late Alphonso and Catherine Ferrante. She was the sister to the late Grace Kasica, Jeanette Diramondo and Violet Sansone all of New Jersey.
While attending the dances in New York City, she met the love of her life, Alphonso (Al) Liberato, and they were married on June 1, 1947 in Passaic, New Jersey. They started their family with the birth of their son, Joseph and later with their daughter, Kathaleen. When she wasn’t working in interior design, she could be found crocheting baby blankets for all the new arrivals of family and friends. In 1982, her family expanded with the birth of her first grandson, Stephen and then again in 1985 with her grandson, Joseph.
After retirement in 1994, the family moved to Henderson, Nevada. Catherine quickly became the neighborhood grandma and was known and loved for her cooking and warm heart. She enjoyed taking her grandsons on family trips to Disneyland and Sea World. As an avid Yankee fan, she could always be found yelling at the TV during baseball season.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Alphonso Liberato. She leaves to cherish her memory, her supportive children, Joseph Liberato and Kathaleen Bistritz; two loving grandchildren, Stephen (Amber) Bistritz and Joseph (Annie) Bistritz; and one precious great grandson, Colin Bistritz.
She will be laid to rest at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, alongside her husband Alphonso, in Boulder City, NV.
