Carolyn Titterington passed away at Sunrise Hospital on September 28, 2018. Her husband, Dewain, and son, Craig, were at her side. Carolyn was born on May 2, 1939 in Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, James & Lorraine Archer, brothers, Jack & David Archer and sister, Sylvia Pradun. She is survived by her husband, Dewain, son Craig & wife Debbie, two grandsons, Jace & Austin, nephew, Doug Pradun and nieces, Julie Zimmerman & Jaclyn Brisk.
Carolyn worked for American Airlines in Chicago from 1966-1980 in Reservations, Consumer Relations and as a Sales Representative. She was also assigned to the Special Task Force that investigated the American Airlines Flight #191 crash that occurred in Chicago on May 25, 1979. During that investigation, Carolyn worked alongside experts in an attempt to help family members identify their loved ones. In doing so she met Dewain, who lost his first wife, Sally, Craig's mother, in the crash.
Dewain and Carolyn remained in contact after the investigation and continued to grow their relationship until they were married in Chicago in June of 1980. They resided in California until moving to Las Vegas in 1981, where they have remained ever since.
Carolyn continued working for American Airlines in Las Vegas, before retiring in 1993. She then went to work for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority from 1994-2004, before retiring for the final time.
Carolyn was a loving, proud and supportive mother who always encouraged her son to do the right thing and pursue his dreams. Some of her proudest moments as a mother was seeing her son graduate with honors from college and pinning the badge on Craig when he was sworn in as a police officer. Carolyn loved being a grandmother and just adored her two grandsons, Jace & Austin.
Carolyn showed her fighting spirit in 2007 when she had major lung cancer surgery. She battled this disease for several years before it went into remission and unfortunately returned this past year. She continued to fight this disease until she passed away. She is now in heaven with family and friends.
