Cal Ginyard passed away September 9, 2013. He was born August 13, 1949, in Philadelphia, PA, to Calvin and Ada Ginyard. Cal was a decorated Security Craftsman, who served 26 years in the Air Force, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies with the University of Maryland and a Nevada private patrolman license. With two partners, he formed Rome Security Services in 2005. Since 1991 he fellowshipped with the Nellis Gospel Service. Cal developed a strong affection for racquetball and could never walk away from a challenge. He enjoyed jazz and cheering on his NFL Eagles. He was a member of Boy Scout Troup 594 and supported the program at the bases he was assigned. Cal was a true humanitarian, always giving and helping others. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 43 years, Irma; two sons Calvin 3rd (Adiane) of Florida and William of Bellevue, WA; granddaughter Sophia; two sisters Adele Ginyard and Rosemary De Walt of PA; and a host of other relatives and friends. He enjoyed telling stories from his full rich life and we look forward to greeting him again in Heaven. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Monday, Sept.16, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will be at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, Sept 17, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the UCLA Cardiovascular Discovery Fund or your favorite charity.
