Barbara Ann Rhodes

Barbara Ann Rhodes, 57, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. She was born on November 1, 1954 to Julia Mae Troutman and Clyde Straughter. Barbara proudly worked as a Front Desk Clerk for 26 years at the Sahara Hotel & Casino. She went on to work at the Tropicana Las Vegas for 8 years until her retirement in 2012. Barbara was very family oriented and loved to help anyone in need. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Walter; daughters LaTonya (husband, Eric Sr.) and Shawana and son Walter Jr. (wife, Tanya). Barbara is also survived by her 4 grandchildren Isaiah (wife, Sabrina), Eric Jr, Amari, Shardaesia and 3 step grandchildren Kazeem, Korey, Monishia. She also leaves behind siblings Porter, Charles, Nathaniel, Lois, Aliece, Linda, Shirley and Irma and sister-in-law, Annie (husband, Sylvester) and brother-in-law, Archie Lee. Barbara is also survived by her best friend Tradean Cross, co-workers Michael Willis, Dennis, Tony, Lynn, and a host of other family, friends and co-workers. Visitation will be 2 pm – 6 pm on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Palm Downtown Mortuary (1325 N. Main Street). Funeral service will be at 11 am on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Second Baptist Church (500 W. Madison Avenue). Interment will follow funeral service at Palm Downtown Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Downtown Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
