Dr. Andrew Charles Tuttle departed on August 5, 2017 at the age of 83. He was born in Ogden, Utah on September 22, 1933. Andy was veteran of the US Army who served in the Korean War while he was stationed in Japan. He was a resident of Las Vegas for 49 years.
Andy worked as a Political Science professor at the College of Liberal Arts at UNLV from 1968 until his retirement in 2000, when he was granted emeritus status. He became the department chair in 1969 and went on to serve for many years in that capacity. He also served on several college committees. He was a specialist in national security policy and coauthor of American Government: Issues and Challenges. He was an advisor to Senator Harry Reid of Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Kathleen M. Tuttle; brother, John; and sisters, Madeline and Kathleen. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen; sons, Mark and Matthew; granddaughter, Amber; sister, Margaret and brother, Tim. Visitation: Palm South Jones Mortuary, 1600 S Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89146 from 1:00-3:00pm and Graveside Service will be held at 10:40am on Monday, August 14th at: Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, NV 89005.
