In loving memory of Alan Clayton Rowland, 81, of Las Vegas Sunrise July 11,1935 - Sunset February 12, 2017 Alan was born the only child of Leonard and Juanita Rowland July 11,1935 in Albany, California. Alan served in the US Navy Reserves for 4 years. He graduated from University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelors in Science, and a Masters in Electrical Engineering, and was the first graduate from the School of Engineering to be invited to join Phi Beta Kappa. He spent his next 30 years working for Intel Corporation. Alan was a 20 year resident of Las Vegas, an avid golfer and bowler. He traveled the world for work and for pleasure to many cities in Asia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa, North and Central America. His favorite place to travel was Mexico, where he spent time there after college. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and an awesome friend to all. No matter your troubles he found a way to make you laugh. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Juanita Rowland; survived by his wife Juanita; daughters Michelle and Maia; sons John and Jeffrey Danner Sr.; grandchildren Jeffrey Jr., Anthony, Michael, and Alyssa; cousins Janet Nelson, Wendell and Marilyn Bell; brother-in-law Simon Holmes; sister-in-law LaVora Duckett. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, and a large group of close friends from around the world. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22nd. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23rd, at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Ave., Las Vegas, 89129. Alan will be laid to rest at Palm Northwest Cemetery, 6701 North Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, 89131. A repass reception will immediately follow in the Summit Room at the Eagle Crest Golf Course, 2215 Thomas Ryan Blvd., Las Vegas, NV, 89134
