He passed away at St. Rose Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada due to a long battled pulmonary disease.
Alan was born in Nebraska to Al and Beverly Abrams. After graduating high school with high honors from a military academy, he attended college in Riverside, California. Upon graduation, a chance opportunity arose for Alan to work in the gaming industry in Las Vegas. His friendly, hard working, and intelligent personality allowed him to rise in the ranks and become pit boss, and later casino manager of several hotels including the Vegas Club, Stardust and El Cortez. He worked in the industry for 44 years and was adored by everyone he worked with for his fairness, generosity and sense of humor.
In 1984 he met Nikki Valenza. They fell in love and got married in 1991. They were together for 40 years. Alan was a loyal and devoted husband. Over the course of their time together, Nikki and Alan were rarely apart. They loved being near the ocean and spending time with family.
In addition to his wife, Nikki, Alan is survived by his daughter, Marnie; son, Perry; and grandchildren, Finn and Oliver. Alan was a loving father, grandfather, and uncle to his niece and nephews. He cared deeply for his family.
Alan had a charismatic personality with an amazing ability to tell a good story, make people laugh, and feel valued. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and especially his family.
The funeral service will be held at Palm Mortuary on Sunday, July 24th at 12pm. There will be visitation at the same location beginning at 10am.
