Aaron was born September 1, 1986 in Loma Linda California, raised in his formative years in Riverside and Adelanto, CA, then moved to Louisville, Kentucky.
Aaron is survived by his son Zane, parents Susan and Tonnie; also his siblings Robert, Anthony, Vanessa, Andrew, Isaac, Marcel and grandmothers Mary and Allene.
His passion for veterinary medicine started when he was 6 years of age and continued through his early education at Central High School Veterinary Magnet Program. Throughout the years Aaron mastered every sport he came across. He played little league through collegiate baseball, football, wrestling, as well as track and field.
His undergraduate education included University of Kentucky and Tuskegee University. He then went on to earn his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. He graduated not only with the ACVIM Clinical Excellence Award as well as the AAHA Small Animal Medicine Achievement Award.
During his educational years, he became a member of 100 black men, as well as a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.
He then moved to Las Vegas to start practicing as an associate veterinarian at Grand Montecito Animal Hospital under Dr. Bruce Lewis with the Nave Group. There he grew professionally, honing his skills, but also his lifelong friendship and mentorship from Dr. Diarra Blue. The two could often be found not only challenging each other inside the hospital, but outside as well.
He excelled as an associate veterinarian and was given the opportunity to open and manage his own hospital. In 2015 he opened South Buffalo Springs Animal Hospital and began his amazing career and soon became known as the Frenchie vet. His initial passions were ophthalmology and soft tissue surgery, but quickly shifted to specializing in brachycephalics and theriogenology. News of his expertise began to not only reach Las Vegas, but quickly spread to the entire United States and world as well.
His passion for helping others wasn’t just at work but extended far into the community. He travelled to Nicaragua on a Christian Veterinary Mission helping underprivileged families with preventative medicine to help with pets and farm animals. Most recently, he was asked to join Team 5 – a small group of hand-selected medical and survival experts who venture into extreme and remote locations to educate local healthcare workers, provide remote medicine and donate supplies to developing areas so they can be self-sufficient. With Team 5 Aaron trained Metro Police Officers to be able to stabilize and treat canine officers sustaining injuries in the field, travelled to Guatemala to provide supplies and treatment of local villagers including providing dentistry, veterinary and general medical support.
When he wasn’t being the frenchie vet or helping others, he could be found relaxing at the beach, snowboarding, kayaking, mountain biking, off-roading, dirt biking, surfing, jet skiing, boating, baseball and exploring the outdoors.
He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and never met a stranger. His spirit was so bright, kind, loving – he was truly a child of God. His mantra was God first, family second, then friends. His beliefs were instilled by his grandparents, then taught directly to him by his parents. Aaron had a never-ending zest for life.
