He leaves his Wife of 26 years, Virginia (Manter) Hardy .
and his first wife of 31 years, Shirley (Peinze) Hardy.
He was the son of the late Beaula (French) Hardy, and George M. Hardy, and stepson of Mary (Dillon) Hardy. He was also the brother of the late Richard Hardy. He is also survived by his
Sister, Charlotte (Hardy) Tracy; his brother, George F. Hardy;
Step sisters, Jacqueline (Dillon) Hardy and Barbara (Dillon) Hardy;
His son, Paul F. Hardy of Greenfield and his daughter, Jeanne (Hardy) Donahue of Hubbardston, MA.
as well as 4 grandsons, Jon and Jay Hardy of Greenfield, Chris and Eric Donahue of Hubbardston, and 1 great grand daughter.
Mr. Hardy Graduated from Concord High School, Glass of 1946 and
joined the Army in 1946. He served in Hiroshima and Nagasaki Japan for 1 yr.
He enjoyed riding and racing motorcylces. and operated a Mobile Gas Station and Bottled gas business in Northboro for many years. He also owned and drove semi-tractor trailer for Sea-Land, and later drove for Hostess in Natick, MA where he retired. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Westboro, MA
and was an Alepo Shriner of Burlington, MA. He was a founding member of the 10th MAssachusetts Battery, North-South Skirmish Association, a volunteer Fire fighter in Northboro and
he enjoyed camping, playing golf, bridge, poker and cribbage.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Duckett-J. S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road, Rt 20, Sudbury, MA at 11:00 am. (Private Burial will be in the spring.) In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SunCoast Hospice, Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater, FL 33760.
