Vincent "Vince" J. San Filippo, Navy TM 1(SS) - 66 yrs. on November 9, 2022, after a 5 year battle with Mesothelioma contracted while onboard Navy submarines. He was born on December 26, 1955 in Bayshore, Long Island, NY to Joseph P. and Nina (Alaimo) San Filippo, Sr. He is predeceased by his parents.
Loving husband, father, and grandfather. Survived by his loving wife, J. Lauren; children, Corey and Jessamyn; and granddaughter, Taylor. He is also survived by his sister, Nina Marie Barr; brother, Patrick San Filippo; and other family members. Also survived by his "brother" Sean (JoAnne) Freeman.
He was most proud of his Naval service on Submarines, (USS Theodore Roosevelt & USS John Marshall) and went on to continue working with the Navy as a Defense Contractor for Grumman Aerospace, E-Systems now Raytheon Technologies. He was happiest when he was able to work on ships to help "the war fighter."
As an engineer he could fix almost everything, that he has been known as "Daddy fix." His talents were many: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, construction, automotive, technology, etc.
Despite all his travelling, he managed to help coach many youth sports with his children. He was a dedicated family man, and his family came first. He was very passionate, and everything he did was with a passion that sometimes wasn't understood, but it was always with good intentions.

Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home in Largo, FL, Sunday, November 27th from 1pm - 3pm with a funeral service to follow. A committal service with military honors will occur at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL on Monday, November 28th at 11:30am.
