Thomas Palmer departed this world unexpectedly on Sunday August 29, rejoining his beloved wife, Connie. Known for his twinkling blue eyes, Tom was quick with a joke and generous with his time. He was that unique individual who was intensely private, yet enjoyed reaching out to hear the stories of those around him. Want to find Tom? Listen for the roars of laughter. His quick wit made him the center of attention at gatherings, where he could always be found in the middle of a group that listened intently as he regaled them with tales of his past. His bright and incisive mind allowed him to live life to the fullest and unrepentedly on his own terms.
Tom Palmer lived and loved fiercely and forever.
He is survived by his two daughters, Lyn Palmer and Lauren Palmer; stepson, Christopher Hughes (Tina); two grandsons, Brandon and Jacob; brothers, James Phillip Palmer (Donna) and Gerald Palmer (Mary Ellen); his sister Linda Lou Benda-Middlesworth; his ex-wife, Wiletta Toy Palmer; and a myriad of beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his wife Connie; his parents, Phillip Athanasios Palmer and Lila Ann (Trent) Palmer; and brother John William Palmer.
Per his wishes, no memorial service or funeral is planned at this time. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donation be sent to PCAS Animal Welfare Trust Fund c/o the Pinellas County Animal Shelter in Pinellas County, Florida.
