Shannon E Jager

Shannon Emilie Jager, 42, passed away January 6th, 2018, at Suncoast Hospice.

Shannon was born June 11th, 1975 in St. Petersburg, FL and was a life-long resident of the city. She was a graduate of Boca Ciega High School, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at FSU, and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from USF. Shannon devoted her life to serving others as a nonprofit professional at Academy Prep Center for Education, All Children’s Hospital, the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg, and AMI Kids. She has left an indelible mark on the community she loved so much.

Shannon loved the feeling of the sun on her shoulders, the sight of dancers in movement, and spending time with her family and friends. She believed in kindness above all things, and her spirit of giving touched all who knew her. Above all, she was a loving mother.

Shannon is survived by her husband, Brian Overcast; daughters Molly Jager, Reilly Overcast, and Maeve Overcast; her father, Robert Bossert, and mother, Kathleen Jewell Bossert; and her brother, Rob Bossert. Services will be held at Pasadena Community Church in St. Petersburg on January 20 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to AMI Kids, 5915 Benjamin Center Drive, Tampa, FL 33634, or any of the aforementioned nonprofit organizations she served.
