Ruth H Carl

Ruth H Carl, age 90, of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023. She was born on January 25, 1933, in Niagara Falls, NY, to Nettie Raper and Stanley Hunt. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior as a young child and found solace and strength in her faith.

After graduating high school, Ruth married Ronald Carl on June 23, 1951. She was a devoted homemaker who raised four children and was active member of New Testament Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. Her youngest 3 children graduated from Dade-Christian School. After raising her children, Ruth also had a career working in the absentee ballots division for Miami-Dade County elections until her retirement at the age of 70.

Ruth enjoyed walking and participated in many walk-a thons. However, she is best known for her love of her family as it was the center of her life. She was a loving and dedicated grandmother who cherished the time she had spent with her 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. After relocating to be closer to her daughter, Ruth faithfully attended First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Nettie and Stanley; late husband, Ronald Carl; her daughter, Janice Bickett; and 7 of her siblings. She is survived by her loving children, Lynette L. Carl (Randy Sturgeon), Steve Carl (Sandy), and Phil Carl (Kathy); as well as her youngest sister, Darlene Erck.

Ruth's memory will be cherished by her family and friends, and her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on in their hearts forever.

A graveside service for Ruth will be held at 3 pm Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774. Following the graveside service there will be a reception from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Serenity Funeral Home.
