He was born in 1948 in East Chicago, IN to Frances and Walter Riley II. He attended parochial schools including Campion Jesuit High School, Prarie Du Chien, WI and graduated from Calumet College of St. Joseph, Whiting, IN with a bachelor's degree in Business. He married Madeline Riley (Kelly) in 1980 and they enjoyed 44 years of blissful marriage together.
Jack began his extraordinary career as a sales representative for Savin Office Equipment Company in Chicago, IL. He joined Xerox Corporation, Midwest Division as a senior sales training manager. Then was hired as district sales manager, NCR Office Systems, Chicago, San Diego, and Renton, WA. He received numerous distinguished sales awards and was promoted to executive sales training manager at NCR Corporate Headquarters, Dayton, OH. Jack moved to Clearwater, FL. Joining Dataflex Corp. as a sales and computer network service manager.
Jack joined the US Coast Guard Auxiliary and completed advanced courses to obtain his Captain's 100 ton license. He was a certified US Merchant Marine Officer and appointed as Flotilla Staff Officer for Communications in the 7th Coast Guard district. As Captain of the MissJackOLyn, he led private tours, cruises, and fishing trips. Jack captained the Clearwater Marine Aquarium Harbor Ferry and the Clearwater Beach Little Toot harbor cruise boat. He was an avid boater and Gulf and Florida Keys fisherman. He could "hold the room" and had an innate ability to make people laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline, brother, Walter Riley III (Lois), Beverly, MA, niece Elizabeth, Dublin, CA and nephew Walter IV, Redondo Beach, CA. He is also survived by brothers-in-law Michael Kelly (Candi), Perrysburg, OH, Kevin Kelly (Cindy), Olmsted Township, OH as well as many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
