A former resident of Berkeley and Downers Grove, IL, she had lived in Redington Shores Florida and most recently resided in their home in Pinellas Park, Florida. Helen was widowed in 1967 with the death of John Wilkinson. In 1972, she married her devoted husband, Alan Hoag. Together they loved 8 children: Barbara Wilkinson (Scott) Glover, Marilyn Wilkinson (Garry) Tinnell, Sally Wilkinson (Edward) Dziedzic, John Wilkinson (Lisa), Teri Hoag (Walter) Fullmore, Timothy Wilkinson, Kathryn (“Kitty”) Wilkinson, and Patrick Wilkinson (KayAnn), 19 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Helen’s passions were her family, friends, and faith. Through the years, she enjoyed traveling, sailing, painting, singing, and quilting. She will be remembered most for her love, her kindness, and always wearing a smile on her face.
At Helen’s request, a Mass will be said at her parish, St Jerome’s Church in Largo on Monday, May 5th at 10AM. Visitation will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Rd., OakBrook Terrace, IL . on Wednesday, May 7, 4-9PM. Funeral on Thursday, May 8.
