

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Craig L. Patterson Sr. Craig passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on May 9,1943 in Waterbury, Connecticut, Craig attended Staunton Military Academy and Case Institute of Technology. He graduated from C.W. Post College in Brookville on Long Island in NY with a B.S. in Physics, an MBA, and an M.S. in Accounting. After graduation Lt. Patterson became a Naval Aviator and flew multi engine planes off the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt & the Intrepid during the Vietnam War. He received numerous air medals. He then went on to become a Land Developer and Real Estate Entrepreneur in Port Jefferson, NY and East Hampton, NY, instrumental in the development of Belle Terre and Harbor Hills in Port Jefferson & owning Commercial Property in the Village of East Hampton, NY which included East Hampton Bowl. He was a member of the Rotary Club and a founding member of the Kiwanis Club in East Hampton. He was instrumental in bringing the Special Olympics to East Hampton and was an avid supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. He and his wife Pat of almost 60 years retired to Randolph Farms near Indian Rocks Beach Florida in 2014 where they spent his final years enjoying their life together in their Special Paradise. He was an exceptional & loving spouse, parent, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. Craig is survived by his wife Patricia E, Patterson, his children Craig L. Patterson Jr. (Michele), Stephen M. Patterson (Alexandra), Cheryl M. Patterson Greer (Hal), his brother Keith S. Patterson (Laura), his nephew Thomas J. Doyle, and nieces Suzanne Bye & Amy Pardue (James), his grandchildren Christopher T. Patterson, Ashleigh E. Mather (Peter), Katherine A. Ewing (Kevin), Stephen M. Patterson II (Emily), Nicholas C. Patterson, Gabriella L. Greer, Harrison J. Greer and great-grandchildren Ellianna I. Mather and Aurora R. Patterson. He was predeceased by his parents Everett M. Patterson and Katherine B. Patterson of Upper Brookville, NY, his brother Paul Patterson (Alice) of Bradenton, Fl., & his nephew Matthew Patterson. Craig was known for his supportive kindness, his sense of humor, and his unwavering spirit. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in Craig’s memory can be made to American Lung Association, the American Heart Association, and the Military Officers Association of America.
