Christopher Woloson, age 45, born in Kettering, OH on Oct 9,1977, and passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 in Largo, FL. Chris was recently preceded in death by his step-brother, Kelly Fink. He is survived by his mother, Shirley (Walter) George, his father John (Rosa) Woloson, 4 step-brothers, Stoney (Stacy) Brooks, Keith (Megan) Fink, Kevin (Jamie) Fink, and Scott (Donna) George, and one step-sister Sheila McIntosh. Always friendly and outgoing, Chris had many friends, especially at the New Atlantis Club where he lived the last 11 years, enjoying time at the hot tub with his buddies. As a child and a young man, Chris was an athlete: Tball, soccer, Tae Kwon Do, and was very proud of being the only freshman on the 92-93 Centerville High School varsity wrestling team. That year the Elks won the WOL and a newspaper article highlighted Chris who surprised everyone "as the fourth-seeded freshman came away with the 103 title." In 1996, 1997 and 1999, Chris also ran with his step- dad, the 15 mile Charleston, West VA Distance Run, quite an accomplishment as he did little to no training. He also enjoyed swimming and playing pool with friends. A man of many talents, he had numerous jobs including restaurant work, water treatment, and pharmacy tech. Chris was a part of the radio broadcasting program and on-air personality at Centerville High School where he graduated in 1996. He enjoyed several cruises with family and friends. Chris was diagnosed with CML, a chronic form of leukemia in 2004, which was a turning point in his life. Although doctors recommended Hospice last May, Chris continued to fight to live and we are so glad we had these last 11 months with him. Chris also played guitar and loved many kinds of music, even shared his mom's love for Celtic music. Chris was funny, sweet and sensitive and was an inspiration to many for the (mostly) positive attitude he maintained through all the illnesses that he endured. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 3 International Drive, Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573. A Celebration of Life will be held, Monday, May 15th, 2023, visitation from 1:00pm - 2:30pm with the service at 2:30pm, Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Rd, Largo, FL, 33774.
