Arlene "Mickey" Wahl, 84, of Seminole passed away peacefully with family at her side on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Arlene was born January 15, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Arthur Kimball & Sylvia Vera (Tauck) Carson. She attended Allen Park High School and eventually met and was married to Rolland L. "Rollie" Wahl of Monroe, MI, for 37 years until his untimely passing in 1994. They lived in several towns around south Detroit, eventually settling in Allen Park.
Mickey worked at Fabricon Products as a Keypunch Operator as well as an assistant elementary school teacher while in Michigan. They had one son, James, and eventually moved to Seminole, FL, in the fall of 1972. Mickey was a banker, starting her banking career with The Bank of Indian Rocks, then participated in the early years of Seminole Bank and eventually retired as a Vice President of NCNB (which is now Bank of America). She was introduced to Thomas "Tom" Green in the late 90's and the couple had been devoted companions since. Mickey truly loved life and enjoyed so many varied hobbies such as sewing ( where she often made many of her clothes as well as for family and friends), watching or attending Florida Gator football, Florida State Seminole football, Tamps Bay Rays baseball, golfing, fishing, camping, boating or sailing with family and friends, traveling, singing in the choir, painting, collecting Christmas ornaments, shopping, gardening and cooking. Mickey also played guitar and practiced as a guitar teacher for many years. She adored her granddaughters, Rachel & Kathryn, and was blessed to be able to experience her great-grandchildren, Liam (3) & Emilia (9 mo.). Her vibrant smile, joy and laughter will be sadly missed.
Arlene was a member of Anona United Methodist Church and joyfully served in the Choir. She was also a member of the Kiwanis Breakfast Club of Seminole and a Past President. Arlene was predeceased by her loving husband Rollie, her brother Arthur K. Carson, Jr., and sister Kathleen A. Carson Crowell. Surviving is her son James A. (Melissa) Wahl, adoring companion Tom Green, brother Frederick J. (Jacqueline) Carson, sister Lois Patricia (Ron) O'Connell, two granddaughters, Rachel L. (Michael) Young and Kathryn R. Wahl, two cherished great grandchildren, Liam & Emilia Young, and many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in her honor to The Suncoast Hospice Foundation or the Florida United Methodist Children's Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Anona United Methodist Church main sanctuary on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11am. Condolences may be offered at www.serenityfuneralhomelargo.com
