I met Gwen in 1978 when I first came to FL. I was going to rent from her for a couple weeks and ended up staying for six years.  When I first saw her, I was amazed at this beautiful woman in her bikini playing volleyball on the beach. Gwen and family welcomed me into their lives, and she and I remained close all these many years. I am so happy I had so many good experiences with her and got to visit with her during her final days. She was a remarkable woman, one of a kind, smart, strong, kind, adventurous, world traveled, hospitable, generous, stubborn as she would say, caring, animal lover, welcoming, a Mom and friend to many.  I could go on and on. I learned so much from her. I treasure all the wonderful times we shared, the people I met through her, our talks, and our love for one another. She will remain in my heart forever. She is so missed and loved. Indian Rocks Beach, especially 1300 Beach Trail, will never the the same without her. May you continue to soar with the angels Gwen. I love you always.

There will never be anyone like Gwen.  Her home on the beach was always “ our second home” to all the kids growing up on the beach. Everyone was always welcome. Even after becoming adults we all still gravitated back to her place.  Some bonds are just lifelong.  She was always kind but firm.  It’s hard to believe such an incredible woman is gone. I’m so fortunate to have been able to spend the last part of her journey with her. All she spoke about was her family- who she loved dearly.  She spoke often of all the great years we all had on the beach. Those memories are forever.  I know your with Alisa now and are now at peace. I’m so sorry for of all the days that were so unbearable Gwen- and even through it all we still managed to find something to laugh about. I will forever cherish our time together , our daily coffee and doughnuts, our adventures and our little secrets we shared. 🤫🤫 Thank you for letting me be there for you. It was an honor and a privilege to be able to make your days a bit easier.. Godspeed dear Gwen on this next part of your journey.  ( I kept my promise)
