Born August 9, 1931 in Lansing, the daughter of the late Charles and Rena (Bowdish) Crawford, passed away April 10, 2013 at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven W. Nelson. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Elizabeth (Joseph) Kinney, Catherine (Patrick) Mercer, Patrick (Christi) Nelson, Timothy Nelson and Michael (Sheryl) Nelson; daughter-in-law, Gloria Nelson; 15 loving grandchildren; as well as 11 great-grandchildren. Vera will be remembered as a loving and faithful mother. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing.
