Thomas D. Griffin

Thomas D. Griffin, age 72, of Lansing, Michigan passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024. He was born on July 3, 1951, at St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing, Michigan, to Donald D. Griffin and Helen M. Griffin.

Tom married Kimm Griffin on July 14, 1973 in Lansing, Michigan. They shared nearly 46 years of marriage until Kimm's passing on March 20, 2019. Tom lovingly cared for Kimm during her courageous battle with cancer for almost a decade.

Tom graduated from O'Rafferty High School in 1969. He began his career at Schmidt's Grocery Stores as a bagger at the age of 16, eventually rising to the level of Payroll Manager. Concurrently, he served as a golf caddy at Lansing Country Club before transitioning to Kroger, where he dedicated over 20 years before retiring.

In retirement, Tom found enjoyment in traveling on cruises, visiting casinos, playing Euchre, indulging in literature, experimenting in the kitchen, and swimming at the YMCA.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Ronald) Drent; son, Jon-Tomas Griffin; daughter, Jessica Griffin; grandson, Aidan Drent; and sister, Janet Griffin.

Tom is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kimm Griffin. He is also preceded in death by his parents and Janet's husband, James Spalding.

Tom will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his strong work ethic, and his zest for life. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be forever treasured by those who knew him.

A Celebration of Life for Thomas will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Chapel, 3232 W Saginaw St., Lansing, MI 48917.
