Roman Goodman, age 95, passed on to his eternal life on December 16, 2021 in his home, surrounded by his family. Roman was born November 15, 1926, in Fowler, the son of Frank and Mary (Simon) Goodman. He is survived by Crystal, his loving wife of 67 years; children, David (Kris) Goodman, Bruce (Leisa) Goodman, Ann (Ross) Auburn, and Cara (Jeff) Meskill; grandchildren, Jaccob Dean, Katie (Jon) Tam, Allison (Jojo Jimenez) Goodman, Ashleigh Meskill, and Samantha Meskill; great-grandsons, Baron Dean, Jose Jimenez, and Julian Jimenez; sisters, Sr. Christine Marie Goodman and Joan Goodman and two nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Leona, Loretta, Agnes, and Vera; and his brothers, Elmer and Leonard.
Roman grew up in Fowler and served in Germany as an interpreter during WWII. After the war, he worked for General Motors, where he met Crystal, the love of his life. Roman was a jack-of-all-trades, able to repair anything for anyone who asked. After working 44 years at General Motors, Roman retired to take on his role as a dedicated grandfather. Roman was a kind, loving, patient husband, father, and grandfather. Nothing gave him greater joy than his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Roman was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Lansing, where he and Crystal were married on May 15, 1954.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 22nd at 11 am with visitation one hour before Mass, both at the Church of the Resurrection, 1531 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, with the Rev. Steve Mattson officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow at St Joseph Cemetery in Lansing. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church of the Resurrection. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel.
