Robert "Buddy" Thomas McNamara

With broken Irish hearts, our family is saddened to announce the passing of Robert "Buddy" McNamara. Buddy passed away at home on October 31st. Bud was born and raised in Lansing, MI. He was a proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and loved his family above all else. He spent his career as an expert finish carpenter, with a keen eye for detail, and his craftsmanship was sought long after his retirement. Bud was also an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt, fish and spend whatever time he could in the outdoors. He also loved sports. You can bet that if there was a Spartan game on, Bud would be watching.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert James McNamara, Neenah (Joan) Greenshields (Shoemaker), Bruce Greenshields; his sisters, Brenda McNamara, Maureen (Renie) VanDerBos, Deborah (Debbie) Teachout, Amber (Bambi) McNamara- Croke; his son, Jade Swenson and nephew, Darin VanDerBos.

Buddy is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Jill McNamara (Orr); loving daughter, Ginnie McNamara and son, Ryan Swenson; siblings, Robin Armstrong (Kevin), Shawn McNamara (Monaca), Chris Greenshields (Laura) and Heather Hunt (Todd). He also leaves behind his precious grandchildren, Raenah McNamara, Stevie Gonzalez III, Lorenzo Gonzalez, Layne and Josh Swenson and his great-grandson, Antonio McNamara Armstrong, along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and pups, all of whom he held close to his heart.
