Mitchell E. Hansel, Jr. of Lansing passed from the loving arms of his family on September 5, 2011 into the loving arms of his Lord. He was born June 11, 1924 in Paris, TN to Mitchell E. and Josephine (Owen) Hansel who now welcome him home. Mitchell was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Hansel had 30 years dedicated service to the Hotel Olds. His gentle smile, sly wit, courage and abiding love will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Henrietta; his 4 children, Cathy (Ted) Edgerton, Rick (Tean) Hansel, Linda (Chuck) Moore, all of Lansing, Mary Ann (Corky) Juarez of Grand Ledge; his sisters Mary (Don) Seif of Haslett and Joy Kalush of Kansas. He also leaves 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews to cherish his memory. The family is grateful to all the staff at Ingham County Medical Care Facility for their affectionate care of Mitch. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, September 9th at Spiritual Renaissance Unity, 230 S. Holmes St., Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
