Michael (Mike) John Ryan, 61, passed away on December 26, 2022, in Grand Ledge, Michigan. Mike was born to John (Jack) and Sharon (Middaugh) Ryan on March 30, 1961. Mike graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 1979. Mike married Joy Wright on July 25, 1987.
Mike worked at CapiStar (L&L Jiroch Distributing/Spartan Foods). After Spartan Foods, Mike started a very successful career at Sundance Chevrolet (Grand Ledge) where he worked in sales and as a Finance Manager.
Mike was a very proud member of the Chevrolet Mark of Excellence club. Mike also enjoyed riding his Harley and valued the friendships he made while a member of the Capitol Harley Davidson Owners Group. In addition to his Harley, Mike enjoyed cruising in his 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass. Mike was a professional Santa for 30+ years and provided memories for many children and their families
Mike is preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, his father-in-law, Paul Wright, Sr., and mother-in-law, Barb Wright, and a very special uncle, Ron Middaugh.
Mike is survived by his wife, Joy, of 35 years, his daughter, Jessica (Cameron) Rodgers, his granddaughter, Paisley Elizabeth and grandson, Kayde Michael, his mother, Sharon (Dan) Rennaker, his sister Michelle (Brian) Walsh, brothers Mark (Karen) Ryan and Matthew (Jen) Ryan, and in-laws, Jerilyn (Stephen) Wilson, Paul Wright, Julie (Ron) Toth, many nieces and nephews, and his best friend and memory making brother from another mother, Keith Phillips and his wife Kathy.
Visitation will take place at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw Street, Lansing, on January 5, 2023, from 11:00 to 2:00 and from 4:00 to 7:00 with a vigil service at 7:00. Mike’s request was that everyone wear green and white (MSU) attire and be comfortable (nobody needs to wear a tie at visitation).
Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on January 6, 2023, at St. Gerard Church, 4437 W. Willow Highway, Lansing, with Fr. John Klein presiding, assisted by Deacon Jim Corder. Visitation will be available one hour prior to the funeral service.
Mike’s family extends their sincere thanks and appreciation to Story Point Memory Care (Grand Ledge), in particular Angie, Sheila, and Lori, to the staff at CorsoCare Hospice, and Carmen Austin, RN for providing dedicated, personable and loving care.
