Michael "Mike" Robert Kelly

Michael R. Kelly, of East Lansing, Michigan, passed away on November 2nd, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Donna Kelly. He is survived by his children: Katy, R.J., Marshall and Ezra Kelly; their mother and his longtime partner, Kathryn Kelly. His grandchildren: Skylar, Storm, and Sainte. His brothers: Patrick (Sue) and Thomas Kelly. His sister: Sharon Kelly. His Nephews: Mark, Brian, and Ryan Kelly. His niece: Ann Marie Kelly.

Mike grew up on the North end of Lansing, where he spent much of his time as a boy and teen at Comstock Park. As a teen, he loved spending his time with friends and was always the life of the party. As he got older, he attended Merrimack University and spent the majority of his career as a Lobbyist.

Mike’s proudest accomplishment was being a father and grandfather. His children will lovingly remember him as the most loving, devoted and reliable father in the world. He was always there for them through their ups and downs, and taught them to go after their dreams and always believe in themselves. His grandchildren will cherish their memories of sleepovers with papa and the mandatory trip to Tasty Twist anytime papa picked them up from school.

The funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral on November 10th at 10:00AM with a visitation held one hour prior to the memorial mass at 9:00AM. His family will be present to welcome loved ones. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
