Judy was born to Robert and Betty Farr on October 1, 1946, in Muskegon, Michigan. Over the course of her lifetime, she called many places home; and, she kept those places close to her heart, including Montrose, St. Helen, and Lansing, MI. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Larry Farr and Robin Lawrence, and her husband, David Nicklesen. She is survived by her son James May, brother Robert (Gloria) Farr, sister-in-law Fran Farr, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
She spent her life caring for her family and the people that she loved in a meaningful and authentic way. She loved all animals, especially her golden retrievers that stayed by her side for many years and her loyal cat, Baby. She always knew how to have a good time and found laughter often. Her sister, Robin, was her lifelong best friend, and the two of them together were an unstoppable force.
She spent many years managing Combined Van Lines in Lansing, MI, a small business owned by her husband where she was a “jack of all trades” and one of the best “packers” in the business. She spent her later years retired, spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. She was happiest surrounded by the love of family, both the human ones and the ones with fur.
She will be greatly missed by all who have loved her throughout the years as a mother, a sister, an aunt, a friend, and especially by those who called her Grandma.
A memorial service for Judy will be held Friday, February 17, 2023, at 1:00 PM, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 East Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI 48912. The service will be followed by a reception with family and friends.
