Judy Ruth DuBois

Born on September 1, 1947, in Sherman, Texas, the only child of the late William John Mitchell and Artie Bernice (Ledbetter) Mitchell.

Judy received her bachelor’s degree from North Texas State University, where she then started her teaching career at Sherman Texas Schools and eventually with Lansing School District. Judy taught and touched the lives of many throughout her 31 years of teaching.

Judy married the love of her life Nathan J. DuBois, on April 2,1970 and together they raised five children together. She attended Grace Bible and South Church in Lansing, Michigan. Judy could always find a place to join in fellowship and celebrate her faith.

She is forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had an immense Love for children, teaching them to read, sing and grow. She especially loved her grandchildren and the many opportunities that allowed her to support and assist them in their lives.

She loved watching MSU sports, particularly basketball, her favorite.

Judy is survived by her husband of 53 years; Nathan J. DuBois, her children; June M. (Ernie) Estrada, Nathan J. (Julie) DuBois, Julie A. (Kevin) Priest, Jon W. (Kayla) DuBois, and Jennifer R. (Jason) Tucker; 10 grandchildren, Nicole Walsh, Katie Hamm, Amanda Estrada Searls, Connor Priest, Tiffany Priest, Wesley DuBois, Mitchell DuBois, Adam DuBois, Nathan Tucker, and Natalie Tucker; her cousins, Margie Carr, Annie Johnson, Marie Ann Webster, Betty Lou Jones, Frank Taylor.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her cousin Geraldine Wimpee.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home – Lansing Chapel, 900 East Michigan Avenue, Lansing, Michigan, 48912, at 12:00PM with visitation starting one hour prior to service at 11:00AM.

Memorial Donations may be made in Judy’s name to The American Cancer Society.
