John C. Miller

Lansing, Michigan

Age 77, our loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away March 28, 2019. Born August 9, 1941 in Lansing, Michigan. John was a 1959 graduate of Everett High School. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He earned his Associate’s Degree at Lansing Community College. He was hired in with the Lansing Police Department in 1967 and retired after 25 years of service. He enjoyed rocketry and was a member of the Tripoli Rocketry Club for many years, and he enjoyed participating in those events with his friends and his son in-law Chris. He also enjoyed practicing his marksman skills at the shooting range in Lansing. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Judy A. Miller; 2 children Kris (Chris) Tunks and Steven Miller (Marcus Easton); 2 grandsons, Alexander Tunks and Nicholas Tunks; and many other family members and friends. John was preceded in deathby his parents, Albert & Margaret Miller.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM Saturday at church with Memorial Services beginning at 11 AM Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Grace Lutheran Church, 528 N. Martin Luther King Blvd., Lansing, MI 48915 with Rev. John Schleicher, Interim Pastor officiating. Interment will be later at Great Lake National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Contributions may be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice in memory of John.
