Joan was born September 15, 1929, in Fowler, Michigan, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Simon) Goodman. Joan grew up in Fowler and then moved to California to work for Ampex Corporation. Joan loved playing cards and enjoyed watching the horse races at Santa Anita race track in Arcadia, California. She retired from Ampex after 31 years of service and returned to Michigan.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Leona Frechen, Loretta Schneider, Agnes Gasses, and Vera Goodman; and brothers, Leonard, Elmer, and Roman Goodman. She is survived by sister, Sr. Christine Marie Goodman; and several nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 14th at 11:00 AM with visitation 30 minutes before Mass from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, both at the Church of the Resurrection, 1531 E Michigan Ave., Lansing 48912, with the Rev. Steve Mattson officiating. A private burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery in Fowler, Michigan at a later time.
