Janice was a 1961 graduate of Lansing Eastern High School. She was a proud life-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she held many offices and committee appointments at the unit district and department levels. She worked many years for the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Michigan and Walgreens.
Janice was very honored when her niece Jamie Marie (Kevin) Hodges Sanders and great niece Paige Marie Sanders were named after her. Other survivors include: her sister, Barbara (Wes) Schultz of Commerce Township; 3 brothers, Richard Hodges, Robert (Karen) Hodges, and James Hodges all of Lansing; and 2 nephews, Chad (Jenny) Hodges of Onondaga, and Sean Murray, of Lansing; a niece, Jami (Bryce) Tracy; of Las Vegas; and several great nieces and great nephews. Janice was very fortunate to have a circle of good friends and great neighbors who were her extended family.
Funeral Services will be held 11am Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 East Michigan Ave., Lansing, Michigan 48912. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Legion Auxiliary Memorial Scholarship fund in Janice's name.
