Gertrude Ann "Trudy" Murray

Trudy was born September 8, 1935 in Dafter, Michigan and passed away March 29, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hester H. Murray.

Surviving are her 4 children; one son, Donald Thwaites of Denver, Colorado;, 3 daughters, Betty (David) Dittman of Leslie, Roberta Maynard of Holt, Susan Thwaites of Leslie; 5 grandchildren, Brian (Jayme) Burley of Leslie, Laura (Tom) Parkinson of Leslie, Jason Maynard, Michael Sweet and Danielle Sweet of Holt, Michigan; 6 great-grandchildren, Alayna and Catherine LeVeque, Tyler and Rylie Burley, Alexie and Reece Parkinson; and her ever faithful companion, Scooter.

She loved her family most of all and was always there for each and every one of us no matter the circumstances. She had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. She is loved by many and will be missed more than words can say.

She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, gardening, finding garage sales, picking through the racks at the local Goodwill, crafting, baking for her kids and grandkids, watching Pawn Stars and Antique Road Show and was an avid supporter of the Detroit Tigers. But, her most favorite past times of all were fishing and gambling at the casino.

At Gertrude’s request, there will be visitation only and no funeral service. The family will receive friends from 3-5:00 PM Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Ball-Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI 48854. (517) 676-2447.
