David E. Barnes passed away on Saturday, July 13th 2024 at Sparrow - U of M Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. With his beloved daughter by his side. He was born on May 15th 1944 in Berea, Ohio to Paul & Inger Barnes. He lived in Cleveland, Ohio a majority of his life as an avid Cleveland Indians fan. He served in the U.S. Army right out of high school. He traveled with the Carson & Barnes circus in his younger years, then worked many years at Bardons & Oliver, then eventually retiring from Ravenna Aluminum in 2006.
He is survived by is daughter Mary "Kris" Hinton (James Lilly) of Lansing, Michigan. A brother Paul of Cleveland, Ohio. A sister Karen of Stafford Springs, Connecticut. Including several nieces and nephews. Also leaving behind his furry granddaughter Zoie, the cat. Preceding him in death are his parents, his sister Linda, his nephew Lee and his brothers Karl and Pete. Also a special woman, Jo Ann who held a special place in his heart. My dad was never one to say goodbye, he would always say So long. So Dad, So long, until we meet again in heaven. There will be a celebration of life held in Lansing, Michigan. Date to be determined.
