Dale Joseph Martin

Dale J. Martin, 92, passed away peacefully June 22, 2017. Dale is preceded in death by his wife Carolynn, son Grant and companion Madonna Anton. He is survived by his children Mindy, Lisa (Rick), Gar (Gerrie), daughter-in-law Kelly and grandchildren Chelsea (Chris), Andrea, Andrew, Alex, Lane, Jack & Molly. Dale was a successful businessman owning Martin Block Corporation, Martin Aggregates, Martin Redi Mix, Sleep Inn Hotel and Twinbrook Estates. He served in the Navy during WWII as a Carpenters Mate learning the skill of woodworking. Before leaving for the Navy he would spend his summers running speed boats at Lake Lansing. He was an avid golfer and would spend his winters at Siesta Key, Florida where he would enjoy looking at the Intercostal Waterway out his back door. He loved to sing and could be easily coaxed into singing almost anywhere at anytime. Most of all, his passion was for his family, often being heard saying "I love my family." Cremation has already taken place. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Gorsline

Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. A memorial luncheon will be held at noon on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Banquet & Conference Center of Dewitt, 1120 Commerce Park Dr. DeWitt. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
