Cheryl is preceded in death by her mother; and her only sibling, her sister, Kathy Leikham, who she was very close to.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sharla Barr, and Michele Quick; five grand children, Zachary Barr, Mitchel Quick, Kaitlyn Barr, Anna Quick and Caleb Quick; her father, Harold; and special friend, Ernest Ramsey.
She was a warrior, conquering life's challenges she faced along her way. She continued to fight hard to the very end.
Honored and adored as a strong, hardworking, independent woman, she was well known for being courageous and outspoken as well as very loving, nurturing, and supportive.
She took pride in everything she did. She had many passions and hobbies, including gardening, home improvements (notably painting and wood refinishing), raising and breeding her old English sheep dog, and spending time with her family, friends, boyfriend, and her precious little furry companion dog, Lola.
She loved having fun, especially camping, fishing and being outdoors.
She was just one month from retirement, she dedicated many years to McLaren Hospital as a psych tech in their GEMs unit. We feel it is very important to still honor and recognize her hard-earned accomplishment by continuing to follow through with her previously planned retirement party.
We invite you to join us for her memorial service, at the First Congregational Church in Eaton Rapids, 300 S. Main St. Eaton Rapids, MI 48827. Services will be held on April 20th, at 4 p.m.
We also ask you to celebrate her retirement with us, at Tony M's Restaurant, 3420 South Creyts Road, Lansing, MI 48917, at 7 pm following her memorial service on April 20th.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.grlansing.com for the Shook family.
